Greta Gets It!
PUTTING OKLAHOMANS FIRST
NOT THE INSURANCE INDUSTRY
Greta Madson Shuler is one of us — a lifelong Oklahoman, small-business owner, and Shawnee City Commissioner who’s tired of watching hardworking Oklahomans get squeezed by insurance companies. Greta spent more than a decade working in the industry.
But unlike other candidates, she’s experienced the consumer side including total loss from a tornado in 2023 and lack of options for excess and specialty insurance. Greta’s running for Insurance Commissioner to make insurance fair, affordable, and accountable again — putting people ahead of profit and restoring trust in a system that’s supposed to protect us.

MEET GRETA
Putting Real-World Experience to Work
Greta Madson Shuler is a lifelong Oklahoman, lifelong Republican, small-business owner, and Shawnee City Commissioner who, after leaving the insurance industry to pursue self employment, has seen insurance from the same side most Oklahomans do — the consumer’s side.
A graduate of Oklahoma Baptist University, Greta started her career in insurance and has spent more than a decade working in and around the insurance industry. While raising a family and maintaining a happy marriage to her husband, Elliot, she’s also launched and managed several businesses. From insurance professional to business professional to hardworking mom, she has firsthand experience with the challenges Oklahoma families and entrepreneurs face when navigating insurance costs and red tape.
Greta knows firsthand the power of resilience and community in the face of disaster. From early mission work for the rebuilding effort to higher ground after the 1993 Missouri floods to visiting family on the East Coast in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, she has seen the strength of Americans helping one another through hardship. On April 19, 2023, Greta personally faced devastation when a tornado destroyed her primary business in Shawnee, an experience that deepened her understanding of what it means to rebuild. As a City Commissioner, she assisted with on-the-ground efforts as wildfires swept through Ward 2, her district, in March 2025, assisting in the evacuation of families. These experiences have shaped Greta’s commitment to public service, preparedness, and building stronger, more compassionate communities.
Now, Greta is running for Insurance Commissioner to bring common sense, accountability, and consumer advocacy back to the Oklahoma Insurance Department(OID). She won’t be backed by industry lobbyists — she’ll be backed by everyday Oklahomans who want fair rates, transparent regulation, and an agency that works for them.
Insurance shouldn’t be about the big companies and their profit lines. It’s about giving Oklahoma families the peace of mind they need. It should be reducing stress, not increasing it.
